Base of a flaring cup/bowl

This is the base and partial body of a cup/bowl with flaring sides. It is fashioned of a somewhat coarse, buff-colored clay fabric. Its bases is rounded. No portions of the rim remain. There are no indications of surface treatments.

Provenance

From Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, Pyramid 8 (tomb of an unknown queen). 1916: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: August 22, 2006)
