Amphora on high base

Ovoid amphora with reversed cone neck and flaring lip. A handle withe three supports on the shoulder. Opposite, a small horizontal handle on largest diameter of the body. Both handles are missing. Primitive meander scratched on the vase and the base, which is perforated by a square hole.


By 1888: with Augusto Alberici (said to be from a tomb on slope of Monte Cucco); April 24, 1888: purchased by R. Lanciani from Augusto Alberici; purchased by MFA from R. Lanciani, 1888, for $493.92 (this figure is the total price of MFA 88.538–88.644 and 89.9–89.31)
