The dial is inscribed "Warranted for Dr. Bugbee." The maker's mother was Sarah Bugbee, so Dr. Bugbee may have been a relation. Later history unknown. Part of the large collection bequeathed to the museum by the noted Boston collector Charles Hitchcock Tyler.
