Turtle effigy pendant

Cast gold turtle effigy with serpent-headed forelimbs and holding a twisted, double-headed serpent in its mouth. A suspension ring is attached to the top of its snout.

Descended in the Coolidge Family, Massachusetts; to Catherine Coolidge Lastavica in 1958; lent to MFA January 25, 1983; to MFA, December 1985, gift of Catherine Coolidge Lastavica.
