Stamped very lightly on inside of the apron: DOE, HAZ [illegible] / Manufacturers / BOSTON, MASS." Brass casters marked on disk: "WHITE"S PATENT" and on side "PATENT 1854 / WHITE S* " and inside "P.B. TYLERS PATENT 1854 / SPRINGFIELD"


Early history unknown; purchased at an auction on August 15, 1973, in Waldoboro, Maine, at the Brenner House by Jonathan L. Fairbanks on behalf of the Museum; 1973, Fairbanks reimbursed by the Museum (Accession Date December 12, 1973)
