Spur (espuela)

An iron and silver spur. The spur is cast and finished in sections, with the silver rowel box designed as an openwork scroll that supports a starshaped iron rowel. This mechanism is soldered to a circular, scalloped heel plate that, in turn, is soldered to the arch that surrounds the rider’s shoe.
