Engraved "EL" on edge of counterguard.

Marked on edge of counterguard with Buhler mark c (surname in semiscript in an ellipse).

Probably Ensign Enoch Little (1658-1766), based on the engraved initials; by descent to his son Captain Edmund Little (1715-1803); by descent to the donors; 1955, gift of Miss Helen Wescott Noyes and Dr. Margaret Noyes Kleinert (Accession Date September 15, 1955)
