Shaman effigy pendant

Cast gold pendant rendering a human male figure with long tail resembling that of a crocodile. The figure grasps a rod in front of his chest to which are attached two small rings for the suspension of now-lost adornments.

Descended in the Coolidge Family, Massachusetts; to Catherine Coolidge Lastavica in 1958; lent to MFA January 11, 1983; to MFA, December 1985, gift of Catherine Coolidge Lastavica.
