After 1831, sold by the artist to Edward S. Windust (1798-1877), Bayville, Long Island and New York City; descended in family to his great-granddaughter; by 1942, consigned to The Old Print Shop, New York; 1943, sold by Harry Shaw Newman, The Old Print Shop, to Maxim Karolik; 1948, bequest of Martha C. (Mrs. Maxim) Karolik to the MFA. (Accession Date: June 3, 1948)
