Originally lent as a bpatismal porringer, this object was probably made at the time of the birth and baptism in 1810 of Henry Winthrop Sargent, son of the artist Henry Sargent; by descent in the family; 1917, lent by Mrs. Winthrop Sargent, May 1, 1917; 1918, Gift of Mrs. Horatio Appleton Lamb in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Winthrop Sargent (Accession Date December 6, 1918)
