Side chair in modified klismos form. The saber legs and frame support a slip seat. A raised panel decorates the surface of the curved crest rail. The lower rail is carved with foliate C-scrolls terminating at a central carved plume.

Provenance

The chairs descended from the Meads family of Albany, N.Y. to Mrs. Charles R. Codman.
