"R GREENE / ob. 19. Oct / 1760 AE 27" in black enamel scroll. Engraved inside in semi-script "W Greene Ob:20: Nov: 1754 AE 13."

Provenance

Mourning ring for R. Greene, died 1760. Collection of Martha P. Rogers Codman; inherited by her daughter Martha Catherine Codman Karolik; collection of Maxim Karolik by 1964; to MFA June 8, 1964, bequest. "Rufus was the son of Rufus and Katherine Greene" from data file.
