Miniature jar

Start collecting

Square-bodied, monochrome red jar with geometric designs created by negative resist painting. The elaborate designs recall textile patterns. Two tiny loop handles are attached to the jar's rim and shoulder.

Provenance

Acquired from dealers in Ecuador or Peru by William and Shirley Epstein in the 1960's; to MFA, November 1995, gift of William and Shirley Epstein.
