Memorial brooch

The brooch centers black champleve enamel with twining blooming vines surrounded by a gold frame composed of repousse scrolling elements and shells. On the reverse in an inscribed hinged comparment that opens to reveal a lock of brown hair. There is a small hook on the bottom.

" I Amory died Sept 4 / 1832 Aged 73 / C Amory died July 20 / 1831 AE 70" engraved in script (from card).
