Provenance

This painting was once owned by the Reverend William E. Wolcott of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Upon his death in 1911, it became the property of the White Fund, a charitable trust, along with several other works of art. The White Fund placed most of these works on deposit at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1912; this one was lent in 1989.
