Start collecting

The lid is embellished with a modeled and painted rendering of a zoomorphic jaguar lying supine across the top of the lid. Much of the lid has been restored in modern times, although the jaguar's head and most of its body are original. See 1988.1295b for the base.

Collected between 1974 and 1981 by John Fulling, Art Collectors of November, Inc., Florida (and known as the "November Collection"); to Landon T. Clay, Boston, Massachusetts, in 1987; to MFA, December 1988, gift of Landon T. Clay.
