Human male effigy pendant

Cast gold standing male effigy pendant, figure holding a twisted rope or serpent across his hips and between his two arms. His headdress comprises five coils of thin wire (cast). A vertical ring at back of his neck allows for suspension. The back of the piece is slightly concave.

Descended in the Coolidge Family, Massachusetts; to Catherine Coolidge Lastavica in 1959; to MFA, December 1980, gift of Catherine Coolidge Lastavica.
