Frog effigy pendant

Start collecting

Hollow cast gold frog effigy with double flange and two serpents issuing from its mouth. Four spiral forms decorate the undulating body of the serpents. The frog's front feet are suspension rings. Proper right hind leg is broken.

Provenance

With Walter Channing Wyman, Chicago(?), by 1922; to MFA, February 1922, purchased as part of a group of 67 pieces for $5,000.
