A third-life-sized bust of a young girl, about ten years old, with her hair pulled back in two lateral plaits across the top of her neck; it then falls loose down the front of her shoulders; a ribbon also decorates her hair on the proper left side behind her ear.

Provenance

Inherited by the donor, Fanny Crowninshield Mason, from the original owner and sitter, Mrs. John Quincy Adams II, her grandmother and namesake.
