Double-chambered whistling jar

Double-chambered whistling jar with wide spout and strap handle bridging the jar's tall neck and the top of the truncated, closed neck of the second chamber. A modeled bird sits atop the second chamber, the whistling mechanism found on its lower abdomen.

Provenance

Acquired from dealers in Ecuador or Peru by William and Shirley Epstein in the 1960's; to MFA, November 1995, gift of William and Shirley Epstein.
