The vessel is composed of two wide truncated cones of differing sizes that have been stamped in a narrow pattern of panels and soldered together at their widest points. A conforming foot is soldered below. A hollow seamed handle with ivory insulators is attached.

“REED & BARTON / [trademark] / STERLING / 985 / [eagle]” struck incuse on base of creamer.

Provenance

Original owner unknown; sold to the Museum by Kurland-Zabar of New York City in 1990.
