The circular copper box consists of a bowl shaped base, topped by a lid with a thin, overlapping rim. In the center of the lid is a raised, soldered-on copper panel of with an elaborate enameled flower blossom composed of deep blue petals that are marked by spots of deep green and burnt red.


Incised "HAY CRAFTERS" underside of lid and underside of base.


Museum purchase from Marilee Boyd Meyer, Cambridge, Massachusetts, February, 1994. Meyer purchased the box at Skinner, Inc., February 1994, lot 424.
