Provenance

Joshua Bangs (d. 1709/10), m. Hannah Scudder; to the Church of Eastham, Massachusetts; presumably when Easthem and Orleans became separate towns, the cup was returned to the Bangs' descendants. Cup purchased from decendent Misses Stearns in November 1937 for $3,000 with funds provided by Hebart Ames through Philip L. Spalding.
