There was a long scratched eighteenth-century inscription on the bottom of the third drawer, of whicch only the last word, "Boston," is now legible.


Belonged to Paul Revere (1735-1818) and descended in his family; Lent by Mrs. Nathaniel Thayer July 30, 1930; 1935, given by Mrs. Thayer (Accession Date December 5, 1935)
