Peter Simon (d. about 1767) or his son Peter Simon, Newport; to Hannah Simon (Mrs. Joseph) Bowen, Gloucester, Rhode Island, the daughter and sister of the aforesaid Peter Simons; through direct descent in the family to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Collyer Bowen; to Mary Bowen Polk, their daughter, 1961; to MFA, 2000, gift of Mary Bowen Polk.
