Cann with bulbous body with everted angled rim; cast and turned splayed molded foot. Cast double scroll handle, acanthus grip, projection for upper joining, disc and extension at lower joining, forked tip.

Inscription

n crossed branches. Very faintly scratched on bottom "oz. dwt. gr." over "18-6-0"

Marks

Marked "[pelet]REVERE" tangent to center point on bottom and at left of handle. Buhler mark b.

Provenance

Thomas Lee, m. Jane Miller October, 1770; his brother Benjamin (1765-1828), m. Elizabeth Leighton; their son Thomas (1801-1866), m. Mary Rebecca Boyce; subsequent history unknown; given to the Museum in 1935 by the collector Pauline Revere Thayer.
