Rectangular mahogany bench with slightly overhanging top, supported by four legs terminating in button feet; scrolled brackets at end rails and at knees of side rails; top joined with a continuous ebony spline, fastened with inset screws capped with ebony pegs

Provenance

Made for the Robert R. Blacker house, Pasadena, California, in 1907; acquired by private collector when the contents of that house were dispersed in the 1940s; by descent to a private Rhode Island collector, from whom purchased in 1982.
