Avian effigy pendant

Start collecting

Cast gold alloy bird effigy with single flange tail. The avian has a long, thin, hooked beak and its eyes protrude outwards from each side of its head, connected by long rod-like elements. A sngle suspension ring at the back of its neck allows for suspension.

Provenance

With Walter Channing Wyman, Chicago(?), by 1922; to MFA, February 1922, purchased as part of a group of 67 pieces for $5,000.
