Engage your students with the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, to illustrate themes and concepts in any discipline.

All Kinds of Colors: Exploring Color in Art

This lesson is designed for the East Boston Early Education Center's visit to the MFA on April 15, 2014.

These preschoolers have been learning about mixing colors in their classes and are excited to come to the Museum to see lots of colorful artworks.

Goals for the visit:

In this visit participants will:

- Understand that works of art are made up of many different colors and that we can mix colors together to make new colors

- Use descriptive language to identify colors and shapes in artworks in the museum

- Connect what they see in the galleries to the collages they make in the art activity

*Although images for three of these works are not available through the MFA, under the description tab for each slide are links to sites that feature images and information about them.
